CBN Told To Issue More New Naira Notes, Re-Circulate Old Ones

The Central Bank of Nigeria was Friday told to print more new naira notes or re-circulate old naira notes to ease the ordeals of Nigerians following the process of phasing out old naira notes.

Members of the Council of State gave the advice after their meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The members, comprising former presidents and heads of state of Nigeria, however, declared their support for the naira redesign policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The meeting was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
