The purportedĀ sale of the Supreme City Layout at Amokpo Nike community in Enugu East LGA of Enugu State is false.
The community clarified this in a statement issued to newsmen by the chairman, Amokpo Nike Power of Attorney, Mr Marcellins Ugwu, and the secretary, Engr Joseph Nnaemeka Ogbu.
The community debunked news making the rounds that it transferred title/sale/lease of the layout to any person/individual/estate developer for for the purpose of constructing a purported Lekki Model City at Amokpo.
The statement urged investors to be cautious of fraudsters, warning unsuspecting people against falling prey to the alleged advertorial claiming to be developing an estate in the layout.
According to the statement, “The community hereby dissociates herself from such advertorial believed to be ill conceived as the community would not be directly or indirectly liable for action or inaction that may arise from such transaction.”
The reaction from the community followed an alleged advertorial by private developers, Seman Global, calling on interested buyers to invest in the layout.
The advertorial claimed that a rich investor was building ‘one of the biggest estates in Enugu State; and very close to Nike Lake’.
The advert called on Nigerians, both home and abroad, to invest in the emerging estate located at the layout, adding that, “Electricity is 100%; WiFi free, mall is there too, and water is running from the ground 24/7′.
It gave the price of a portion of land in the area between N4.4m and N5.7m, ‘depending on the size’.
Efforts are ongoing to contact the advertisers for clarifications as their phone number 09160002111 rang severally, but no one responded.
