The hierarchy of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NCL) and that of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have formally suspended their nationwide protests against the removal of fuel subsidy.
NLC is led by Comrade Joe Ajaero while Comrade Festus Usifo is the president of TUC.
The suspension was stated by Osifo during the Arise Television Morning Show on Thursday.
According to him, the organized labour leaders who had earlier met with President Tinubu suspended the protests because they had a ‘fruitful meeting with the president on Wednesday evening’.
The two unions earlier planned a strike action to press President Bola Tinubu to change some of his economic policies that are making livelihood difficult in the state. Some of them is the subsidy removal that increased the price of PMS to over N617.
