Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja, Tuesday, adjourned Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case to November 14.
Kanu is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra. He is standing trial over alleged running a proscribed group, jumping bail and treason.
Tuesday’s trail was to decide on his bail application.
Our correspondent gathered that the trial judge was forced to adjourn after she was informed by Kanu’s lead counsel, Mr Mike Ozekhome, SAN, that a pending application at the Court of Appeal will soon be heard around October 11.
The appeal seeks the dismissal of the terrorism related charges instituted against Kanu by the federal government.
Against this backdrop, Justice Nyako was compelled to adjourn the case to November 14 for mention and pending the determination of the Court of Appeal.
Justice Nyako had earlier refused to grant Kanu bail. She told Kanu’s counsel to approach the appellate court on the bail request if they desire.
