Mrs Theresa Orie Nwa Ugwuebonyi, reputed to be the oldest woman in Ezimo Community, Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, will be buried on 24th June, 2022, Adadareporters gathered.Nwa Ugwuebonyi, as was popularly called, was married to the late Ogbu Nwa Ugwuowo of Amaogu, Ezimo. She was born into the family of Ugwuebonyi Asogwa of Ogwu in Obollo-Afor some 119 years ago.
She was aged 119. Fondly remembered for her accommodating spirit, enterprises and community leadership, Nwa Ugwuebonyi’s death has been described as a huge loss to the entire Ezimo community and Udenu LGA in general. She is survived by Barr Ifeanyi Ossai, an Abuja-based lawyer, and Dr Anayo Ossai, lecturer, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
Others are Chief Samuel Ogbu (Okpube Jimugwu), son; Onowu Osondu Ogbu, Onowu Ezimo (stepson); Hyacintha Nnamani (daughter), Ifeoma Ogbu (granddaughter), Onyeka Ossai (son), Anthony Ossai (son), TU Ogbu (stepson), 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.Some of her relatives are Chief Ohabuenyi Ugwuebonyi, Orie Nwa Ugwuebonyi, Odo Nwa Ugwuebonyi, Ugwu Nwa Ugwuebonyi, Eze Nwa Ugwuebonyi, Mamah Ugwuebonyi, Ezemeh Ugwuebonyi, James Ugwuebonyi, and Orieshu Ugwuebonyi.According to the family, the wake will be on 23/6/22 at Ogbu’s compound, Amaogu, Ezimo-Uno.
The interment is on 24/6/22, while reception holds at Uduledem Development Centre, Eke Ezimo.
