The spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka, Sunday, decried regular attacks on Christians.
Fr Mbaka stated this during a sermon at his Adoration ground at Umuchigbo Nike, Enugu State.
Mbaka said, “Insecurity in the country is now colossal. The pivot of our spirituality is faith. Once faith is tampered with, the other aspects of our spiritual lives are affected.
“There is need for church to wake up. Let’s stop attacking ourselves. Let’s face the hurdles on our faces with seriousness.
“As it supposed to be, after that dastard act was carried out at Owo in Ondo State, churches all over the country should have gone out to display their indignation.
“But if you talk, they will say that Mbaka is instigating crises. The sacred nature of church is fading away. Church should be feared, but the reverse is now the case. We have to do something.
“All I can tell Christians is to muster courage to stem the tide because those who should protect us are busy buying N100m forms for party primaries just a few days after the attack.
“Their concern is to win elections without thinking about the welfare of the people they should protect.”
Our correspondent reports that the congregation observed one minute silence in honour of the victims of the attack.
