Breaking: Atiku Set To Announce Wike As VP, Dumps S’East

By Adadareporters

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar is set to announce Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike as his running mate ahead of the 2023 general elections.

An insider told Adadareporters that Atiku’s earlier bid to pick somebody from the South-East region was dashed by the position of Igbo stakeholders that nobody from the zone should accept a vice-presidential slot.

The source, who doesn’t want to be mentioned, said, “Atiku wanted Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party, but Mr Obi seems to be consolidating his popularity across the federation.

“He then entered into negotiations for either Delta State Gov Ifeanyi Okowa or Nysome Wike. Atiku believes that Wike has the clout to join him and defeat other presidential candidates.

“There is also fear that the threat by the Indigenous People of Biafra that there won’t be elections in 2023 in South East could mar the voting strength of Ndigbo in 2023.”

Recall that Gov Wike came second during the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential primary, which was won by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
