Senator Ahmed Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 elections, will be defeated if he picks a Muslim as his running mate.
The spokesman of a faction of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, stated this in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday.
Isiguzoro further predicted that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, would also lose if he picks his vice president from the south-south region.
He added that with those seeming mistakes, the coast would be clear for Labour Party’s Peter Obi to win the presidential election in 2023.
The statement read in part, “There is palpable fear in the APC and PDP about the way Peter Obi is making waves across the country.
“Those championing for a Muslim-Muslim ticket in a multi-religious country are enemies of the land. Those rooting for Gov Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, from South South, rather than South East, want Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the PDP, to lose again.
“The alliance of Obi and Kwankwaso of New Nigeria Peoples Party will rejuvenate the stamina of the coalition and create room for the emergence of Peter Obi and Kwankwaso as president and vice president of Nigeria.
“The headache for the Labour Party is never to accept the vice president position for Obi.”
