A London magistrate, Thursday, denied to grant bail to Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice over alleged trafficking of a 15-year-old Lagos boy to the UK. They were charged with intent to harvest the organ of the lad.
The London Metropolitan Police announced their arrest Thursday, adding that the former Nigeria’s deputy Senate president and his wife would be charged promptly before a court at Uxbridge.
Their case was fixed for July 7. Arise TV reported that the trafficked boy is a homeless Lagosian.
Ekweremadu’s kinsman, who declined to be mentioned, earlier said that ‘I only read it online. I can’t confirm’.
Ekweremadu’s media aide, Uche Anichukwu, however, confirmed his boss’ arrest in the UK, according to Newsband.
