The authorities of Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State seem indifferent as an Access Bank accredited POS kiosk is built on top of a gutter, says a vendor on Wednesday.
The vendor, who does not want to be named, said, “This is a gutter. It is directly opposite Peace Park at Nsukka.
“When the structure is being mounted there, we thought that the authorities of the local government will swiftly ask the builder to remove it. But it has come to stand. On top of a gutter!”
A groundnut seller around the area said, “We tried to advise the owners, but they said they are coming from the above. When we saw that the point belongs or is accredited by Access Bank, we then kept quiet because they are truly coming from the above.”
An attendant of the point said, “I’m employed to work here. I don’t know anything.”
A staff member of Access Bank along Enugu road, Nsukka, who is not authorized to comment on the matter, said, “Access Bank issues licences to our accredited POS applicants. We don’t influence their locations.”
