As the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, marks his birthday today, his faithful have been pouring encomiums on him for his doggedness.
His special counsel, Barr Aloy Ejimakor, wrote, “Dear #MNK, Your trials and tribulations in defense of freedom shall not be in vain.
“Happy Birthday, the alpha male. Freedom beckons!.”
Michael King tweeted, “The leader of the largest, UNSHAKABLE movement on Earth, happy birthday Ohamadike 1 of BIAFRA land. U Shall live long
Agozie Buntus wished Kanu many more happy years ahead. According to him, “Happy blessed birthday to you my able leader MNK, wishing you many more years ahead. Age gracefully sir🙏💕”
Prince ND wished him well. In his words, “Happiest birthday to you Ohamadike Biafra. Although your beginning is small, your later days on this planet earth will forever be great. Says the Lord. #FreeMaziNnamdiKanuNow.”
Kanu was arrested in Nairobi, Kenya, last year and forcefully brought to Nigeria in a manner his special counsel, Barr Ejimakor, has described as ‘extraordinary rendition’. He argues that Kanu, having travelled to Kenya as a British citizen, ought to have been tried following international legal principles.
Kanu faces charges on running a proscribed group, jumping bail in 2017 and treason. A High Court of Umuahia however ruled that he did not jump bail, having escaped the invasion by the Nigeria military while on bail. The suit was instituted by Barr Ejimakor.
