2O23: ‘Obicracy’ Enters Nigeria’s Political Dictionary

By Adadainfo

‘Obicracy’ has become the latest political lexicon as supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Mr Peter Obi, are about to adopt it as a movement.

A staunch supporter of LP’s presidential candidate, whose name couldn’t be gotten, was seen in a video defining what he described as the new dawn in Nigeria’s politics.

He defined the term as “The system of government where the masses choose a competent leader without a structure over corrupt leaders with structures’.

Meanwhile, one Mohammed Isa, from Nasarawa State, has predicted that Peter Obi would not fare well in the 2023 presidential election.

He told our correspondent in Keffi that, “If it were in developed countries, Peter Obi would have been returned almost unopposed.

“But in Nigeria, religion and tribes play a lot in politics. In the North, for example, the youths still take orders from their elders. Currently, politicians in the North are targeting voters at their electoral wards, and Obi’s supporters are using social media and rally. Some of them use that as fun.

“Some don’t have voters’ cards. So, the race will still be between Atiku Abubakar’s Peoples Democratic Party and Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress.

“Atiku is supposed to lose because it is the turn of the South. I don’t know how Tinubu can break the North, but he has an edge.”
