Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, the
national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, says APC governors may boycott the presidential election campaign of Sen Ahmed Tinubu because Tinubu ‘ignores them’.
Adamu stated this Wednesday during the party’s opening session of a meeting of governors, National Working Committee (NWC) and other stakeholders in Abuja.
The governors were said to have complained that they were ignored in the formation of Tinubu’s presidential campaign team.
Adamu said, “Being the chief executives of their various states, the onus of our great party lies in the hands of God and in their hands. They (the governors) are the commanders of the party fortunes in their various states.
“We cannot make meaningful progress in the affairs of these states, particularly in an election year that is approaching.
“We cannot plan without the buy-in of our governors. We will plan together to see how best we can deliver the interest of the party to ensure that victory is ours in the 2023 general elections. That is the essence of this meeting.”
