By Adadainfo

Tunisia have become the first African team to crash out of the ongoing World Cup in Qatar. Despite beating defending champions France 1 – 0, the Carthage Eagles’ hearts were broken when Australia defeated Denmark.

Their victory over France took the Carthage Eagles to the third spot of Group D with four points, but they missed out on qualification by two points to France and Australia who gained six points each.

Tunisia dominated the game, and scored in the 58th minute with a goal by Wahbi Khazri who glided past the French defence and put the ball in the net.

The goal momentarily placed Tunisia in the second spot in the group. They could have qualified for the first time to the next round, but Australia’s winning goal against Denmark put Tunisians’ cheers to tears.

Tunisia had played a goalless draw against Denmark before losing 1-0 to Australia in the second match.
