Doyin Okupe, the campaign director general of the Presidential Campaign Council of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, has been expelled by the party in Ogun State.

He was alleged to have been a non-financial membership of the party in the state, high-handedness, and financial recklessness. Ten other key members of the party were also expelled alongside Okupe.

Mr Michael Ashade, state chairman of the party, stated this in Abeokuta on Thursday. According to him, Okupe and the others breached the Labour Party constitution, adding that they therefore ‘cease’ to be members of the party.

Okupe is yet to react.
