Mazi Kanunta Kanu, elder brother of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, says Mr Simon Ekpa’s sit-at-home order was declared by the dictates of Ekpa’s ‘paymasters’.
Recall that Ekpa declared Dec 9, 10, 11, 12, and14 as sit-at-home aimed at preparing for the boycott of the 2023 general elections in South East.
Kanunta stated this Friday through his his verified Twitter handle. He further alleged that ‘politicians are behind the killings in #Biafraland’.
Quoting him, “IPOB has one central command and that is #MNK; anything contrary is antiIPOB.
“Some politicians are behind the killings in #Biafraland through some persons just to destabilise SE (South East).
“The ‘Simon Ekpa sit-at-home’ was NOT for #MNK release, but for his paymaster.”
Nnamdi Kanu is being detained at the custody of the Department of the State Services over alleged running a proscribed group, jumping bail and treason.
Ekpa was announced as Kanu’s replacement after his arrest last July. He was however suspended in a press release by IPOB’s head of publicity, Emma Powerful, but Ekpa has retained his position in defiance of his removal.
