The deceased, identified as Taiwo Gbolahan, a first-year student of the Department of Quantity Survey, was killed by a truck along the Ikole-Oye highway Friday morning.

Prof Dosu Malomo, dean of students’ affairs of the institution, confirmed the incident. He said Gbolahan died in the theatre where he was being attended to by the doctors.

The lecture-free day was contained in a release by Wole Balogun, an adviser on media matters to the vice-chancellor.

The release, entitled: ‘Condolence Message And Lecture Free Day’, reads, “The university has received the sad news of the loss of one our students in a fatal motor accident on Ikole-Oye highway.
