Fleeing Anambra Corps Member Fingered In N47m Fraud Arrested In Benin Republic

The corps member serving in the Anambra State Police Command, who was declared wanted over alleged impersonation and fraud, has been arrested in Benin Republic through Interpol operatives.

Nnamdi Daniel Emeh, 26, with state code AN/22A/3323, was earlier declared wanted by the state police command on Feb. 20, 2023 in a release issued by the command’s public relations officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga.

Briefing newsmen in Awka on Friday, the state police commissioner, CP Echeng Echeng, stated that, “The suspect, Nnamdi Emeh, fled the country to the Benin Republic before he was arrested by Interpol operatives.

“Nnamdi also hacked into one Mr Chibuike Martins Ekwueme’s accounts and fraudulently transferred N47,000,000 to fourteen (14) different accounts owned by him (Nnamdi E). The case is already before the Federal High Court.”

The CP reiterated the resolve of the command in providing adequate security across the state, and called on the residents to provide prompt information about criminal activities to the police for proactive response.
