Amaechi Precious, m, aged 25, from
Obosi in Anambra State, and Almazer Avalumo, m, 25, from Adikpo in Benue State, have been arrested in Anambra State over alleged criminal activities.
They were arrested at about 1130 hours on Thursday by police personnel in Obosi while on patrol.
They were among a three-man criminal gang riding on a tricycle around Littlewood Estate, the state police command said.
The state police public relations officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said, “The gang engaged police operatives in a firefight. They bowed to superior firepowers of the operatives who arrested two of them with gunshot wounds.
“Two berreta pistols and two rounds of ammunition were recovered from the hoodlums. The third suspect managed to escape.”
The PPRO urged members of the public to call the Command Control Room number 07039194332 or 112 for any security-related information for proactive interventions.
Meanwhile, the state commissioner of police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has charged the operatives to sustain the fight against criminal elements wherever they may be lurking.
