Five Women Die In Anambra Auto Crash

Five women died Friday in Anambra State in a road mishap involving a Mistibushi L300 bus with registration number XE245AWK and a commercial Daf/Leyland truck with number T-19094LA.

The accident occurred at Odumudu junction by Nteje Awka expressway at about 07:30hrs.

Aside the dead, seven others sustained varying degrees of injuries. The crash was attributed to failed portion of the road.

According to an eyewitness, the two vehicles got to the spot at same time and due to the weight of the truck, the container fell on the bus.

Margret Onobe, the sector public education officer, FRSC, Anambra State, said FRSC rescue team from RS5.33 Nteje took the injured victims to Divine Care Hospital, Umunya, for medical attention, while the dead victims were taken to Chira Hospital where doctors confirmed them dead before their deposition at New Jerusalem Mortuary, Nteje.
