Female Lecturer Of FUT, Minna, Murdered

Mrs Funmilola Adefolalu, an associate professor at the Department of Biochemistry, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, has been killed by unknown person.

She was killed in her residence at the Federal Low Cost Housing Estate, Maikunkele, it was gathered. A source said she was found dead in her residence at about 1pm on Sunday.

She was said to be a poultry and fish farmer and pastor in one of the new generation churches in Maikunkele. She was reportedly absent at Sunday service, necessitating the visit to her house by church members after the day’s service.

On reaching the house, the eyewitnesses said they met the doors firmly locked, leading to being forced open.

It was said that the church members were shocked to see the lecturer lying on the floor in a pool of her blood. It was said that an alarm was raised leading to the police coming into the situation.

The PPRO, Niger State Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident, saying that the blood stained knife suspected to have been used to kill the professor was recovered from the scene

Abiodun said the body of the lecturer was taken to the IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna where it was confirmed dead on arrival and was deposited in the hospital morgue. He said investigation into the incident had commenced.
