Video Of Kidnap Of Passengers At Enugu-Ezike Fake

The trending video claiming passengers loaded in Enugu-bound bus from Abuja were kidnapped Wednesday evening at Enugu-Ezike is fake, a resident of the community told our correspondent.

Enugu-Ezike is located in Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The man, who identified himself as Charles Apeh, said the incident happened on July 29, 2023. He forwarded a news report to our correspondent to confirm the fakeness of the news.

He said, “It is fake. Our people invoked deities against kidnappers, rapists, armed robbers and cultists, among other criminals, yesterday. Those promoting the video are angry because our place is now holy. Try such and you die.”

The trending video claimed that kidnappers abducted passengers along Ette – Umuopu Enugu-Ezike road in Igbo Eze North LGA of Enugu State Wednesday evening. The bus was said to be going to Enugu from Abuja.

A voice was heard in the video alleging that, “Only one person managed to escape, and soldiers had been deployed to rescue the victims.”

Enugu-Ezike of Igboeze North LGA yesterday invoked deities against kidnappers, and other criminal activities in the area.
