Ex-Buhari Minister Sadiya Farouq Arrives At EFCC Office

By Adadareporters

Sadiya Umar-Farouq, ex-minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development, Monday, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to answer questions on alleged N37.1bn fraud during her tenure.

EFCC had last week invited her for interrogation partaining to the alleged fraud. She however did not honour the invitation. But she afterwards responded in writing, claiming health challenges as reasons for her inability to honour the call. She also demanded an extension of the deadline to enable her to honour the invite.

She stated in her letter that, “I remain proud to have served my country as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with every sense of responsibility and will defend my actions, stewardship and programmes during my tenure whenever I am called upon to do so.”

Mr Dele Oyewale, EFCC’s spokesman, confirmed her arrival to the office of the anti-graft agency today.
