Abia: Activist Calls For Justice As S’Court Decides Otti’s Fate

By Adadareporters

A civil rights activist and founder of Maka Ọdịmma Igbo, Nze Kanayo Chukwumezie, Friday, called for justice as the Supreme Court decides the Abia guber election case today.

Chukwumezie urged the apex court to go for merit. He tweeted, “Alex Otti is the best thing that has happened to Abia State since after Dr Sam Onunaka Mbakwe. Otti is being adjudged the best governor in Nigeria as at today. This may not go down well with those that don’t want anything good in Igboland.

“I hope and pray that the hawks and the powers that be do not use the Supreme Court to truncate the marvelous and divine works he is doing in Abia which is evident everywhere.”

Our correspondent reports that the Supreme Court fixed Friday 12 January 2024 as the judgment day on the appeals by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the election of Gov Otti of the Labour Party.

The five-man panel of the apex court adjourned the matters for judgments after taking arguments from parties involved in the matter on Wednesday 10 January.
