Two armed robbery suspects operating at Holy Ghost in Enugu have been arrested.

The police public relations officer, Enugu State Police Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, stated this in a release on Sunday.

Ndukwe identified their names as Monday Igwe, 25, and Obinna Owoh, 27, both of Ebonyi State.

According to him, “They were arrested on January 24, 2024, at about 9pm by police operatives serving in the Central Police Station (CPS) of the Enugu State Command, with one locally fabricated cut-to-size gun loaded with a live cartridge recovered from them.

“The operational success followed the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, that operational and investigative activities be strengthened in and around Holy Ghost and the Railway axis of Enugu metropolis.”

He said the suspects would be arraigned in court and prosecuted once investigations were concluded.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Uzuegbu had assured that ‘policing activities shall be sustained until the area is totally rid of all acts of crime and criminality’.

He, therefore, enjoined the citizens to continue to support the police ‘as they frontally combat and flush unrepentant criminals and their activities out of Enugu State’.
