The Commissioner of Environment and Mineral Resources, Enugu State, has announced the increment of road sweepers’ salaries from N30,000 to N50,000 with effect from January 2024 to enhance thier welfare.
The commissioner stated this during his conference with Clean Team in New State Secretariat, Enugu, on Monday.
According to him, this is in line with the directive of Enugu State Governor Peter MBA.
The coordinator, Enugu State Utility Project, Rev. Fr. Michael Ogbu, lauded His Excellency and the Hon. Commissioner for their proactive measure in carrying Clean Team along in scheme affairs.
Rev. Fr. Ogbu said that the sweepers should expect the alert very soon, enjoining them to increase thier productivity and quality service delivery to make Enugu State clean always.
The supervisor covering Eastern Shop, Okechukwu George, expressed his gratitude to Gov Mba for hearkening to their cries for improved welfare package and pledged that the Clean Team will do their best to mantian regular cleaniness in the state.
