Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Wednesday, said it is overwhelmed by the sterling records of Gov Charles Soludo in the past two years as governor of Anambra State.
In a statement signed by Dr Alex Ogbonnia, national publicity secretary of Ohanaeze, the pan-Igbo group said Soludo’s records had surpassed all expectations.
According to the statement, “Ohanaeze Ndigbo recalls with freshness the overwhelming clamour before the governorship election by almost all the segments of the Igbo for Soludo to become the governor of Anambra State.
“The general clamour for Soludo was predicated on his sterling reputation for profound intellect, global economic punditry, and an awesome track record of accomplishments.”
The president general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, in the statement, said, “The reports he gets from all the nooks and crannies in Anambra State are heart-warming. The reports validate the people’s expectations in Soludo as a legacy archetype who is committed to transforming Anambra State to a tourist and investment destination.”
Ohanaeze particularly applauded Soludo for his “uncommon prudent resource management, massive skills acquisition and youth empowerment scheme, a regenerative agricultural programme, urban regeneration, recruitment of over 5000 teachers, road infrastructural revolution, security enhancement,l.”
The Igbo group enjoined Soludo to replicate the likes of Dr M I Okpara, Chief Sam Mbakwe, and Chief Jim Nwobodo “whose incumbencies as the premier of Eastern Region, and the governors old Imo and old Anambra states, respectively, are still remembered by all and sundry with deep emotional attachments.”
