Enugu State Cash Transfer Unit Enroles Over 180, 000 Households

The Enugu State Conditional Cash Transfer Unit has commenced enrollment process for the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Programme (a National Social Safety Net Project scale Up, NASSP – SU) in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinibu.

The State Programme Manager, Ogbuanya Sunday, made this disclosure to Adada reporters on Monday during his monitoring excercise in Awgu LGA .

According to Ogbuanya, “The initiative aims to bring financial relief to vulnerable citizens in the state, making significant impact on the lives of the beneficiaries and contributing to thier wellbeing and resilience due to the hardship caused by the current economic reforms in the country.”

He said over 180,000 households would benefit from the enrollment across the 17 LGAs of the state in iine with National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO) and Ministry of Humanitarian Affiars and Poverty Alleviation’s directives.

The National Programme Manager, NCTO, Dr Michael Ajuluchukwu, said the enrollment targets 97, 326 beneficiaries from the National Social Register (NSR) and additional 83125 beneficiaries from the Rapid Response Regards (RRR).

The SPM urges beneficiaries to provide their National Identification Numbers (NIN) during the enrollment process to meet eligibility criteria for opening bank accounts in fulfilment of the recent Central Bank of Nigeria directive encouraging those that have not registered to do so instantly.

He stated that all the beneficiaries would be paid through their bank accounts, emphasizing that those with existing bank accounts will be paid through their accounts while new accounts will be opened by the program for those that do not have accounts to ensure total inclusiveness of beneficiaries.

He said that each beneficiary would receive N25,000 for three payment circles culminating in total financial support of N75,000 only.

He enjoined the public to visit their communities to enquire if they are part of the current disclosure and check their names on the disclosure list which is often disclosed on a location agreed by the community members for unhindered access and convenience of the members for validation and enrollment.

He charged the public to approach the LGA Desk Officers and Renewed Hope State Cash Transfer Unit for clarifications.
