Joint Taskforce Recovers 9 Home Made Bombs In Anambra Forest

The Anambra State Joint Security Force has recovered bombs and communication gadgets at Ogbaru forest in their onslaught against criminals attacking security formations in the state.

Police said the operatives combed Amiyi and Ochuchu areas in search of the criminal hideouts.

The state police public relations officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said troops of the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police routed the hoodlums from their hideouts in the forest.

He said, “Several camps were found and destroyed during the operation which lasted several hours. Nine improvised explosive devices (IEDs) recovered from the camps were safely defused by Police Bomb Squad.”

Meanwhile, the commissioner of police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, commended the military for its steadfastness in supporting the fight against criminality.

He also thanked the DSS, NSCDC, NDLEA, NIS and various vigilante groups across the state for the synergy that is yielding results in keeping Anambra State Safe.

The CP also warned cultists running amok in the state “to be aware that their days are numbered”. He warned that secutity will not fold its hands and watch them destabilize the state in the name of cult rivalry leading to fatalities.
