Gunrunner Forced To Abandon Pump Action Guns In Anambra

By Adadareporters

A notorious gunrunner was Thursday forced to abandon seven brand new pump action guns concealed in a bag in Anambra.

The incident occurred around 11:30am at Onitsha, police said. The concealed items were identified as Jojef magnum pump action guns.

It was gathered that the operatives laid ambush at the identified location at Creek Road, Onitsha, and the gunrunner, on sighting the police, abandoned the bag and took to his heels.

This was confirmed by the state Police Public Relations officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga.

SP Ikenga said that the breakthrough was a result of the practical intelligence and tact-led policing strategy of the state commissioner of police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, aimed to frustrate criminal plans, “especially on the intel received overtime about planned attacks by unlawful group/secessionists to enforce illegal sit-at-home on 30th May 2024”.

Meanwhile, CP Itam has ordered a manhunt on the notorious gunrunner and the gang. He urged residents of Anambra to always provide useful security information to the police to enable them to continue to frustrate criminal intentions of non-state actors in the state.
