One person was killed, Wednesday, and scores injured when a sienna bus driver lost control and rammed into traders at a market in Anambra State. The incident occurred along Oye-Agu Abagana road in Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.
The incident also led to the destruction of make-up shops and goods displayed along the road.
The vehicle was said to be on a high speed when the driver lost control and rammed into the roadside traders at the popular market.
Good-spirited individuals were seen trying to assist the victims, including trapped persons while relatives run to check the identity of the victims.
The sector enlightenment officer of FRSC, Anambra State, Margaret B Onabe, confirmed the accident.
The driver, according to her, was identified as Eze Uchechukwu with a commercial Toyota Sienna bus with registration number NEN588YX belonging to TRACAS.
She wrote, “Seven people comprising one male adult, three female adults, and three female children were involved in the crash. One female child was killed.
One male adult, three female adults and two female children were injured.”
The injured victims were taken to Urban Hospital and Maternity for medical attention, while the dead victim was taken to the morgue, it was gathered.
