Operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS), Monday, invaded the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP).
This is coming after DSS arrested Joe Ajaero, president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, on Monday. He was however released on bail afterwards.
SERAP confirmed the raid in a brief statement on it X.
SERAP said the operatives, presently occupying its office, are “asking to see our directors”.
The civic advocacy organisation wrote, “Officers from Nigeria’s State Security Service (SSS) are presently unlawfully occupying SERAP’s office in Abuja, asking to see our directors.
“President Tinubu must immediately direct the SSS to end the harassment, intimidation and attack on the rights of Nigerians.”
