Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Enugu State Command, have been charged to brace for the task of securing lives and property to make the state safe.
The charge was made by the state’s new commandant of the corps, Mr Aloysius Udemadu Obiorah, while assuming office.
Denny Manuel Iwuchukwu, the corps’ public relations officer in the state, disclosed this in a release made available to Adadareporters on Friday in Enugu.
The commandant, according to the release, charged the operatives to ‘roll their sleeves and get ready to work for the good and safety of the state’.
In his words, “The development and security of any economy is dependent on the prevailing security of that environment. The incidences of insecurity in the state require a collective effort.”
Cmdt Obiora, according to the statement, promised to reward outstanding contributions of personnel of the corps. He also extended his hand of fellowship to sister agencies in the state, and promised ‘a robust partnership that will further strengthen the existing synergy among the services with the aim of securing the state’.
It was gathered that the new commandant is the 11th to serve in the state.
