Regular flights from Nigeria to the State of Israel will resume soon after the ongoing discussions between the two countries yield fruit.
This was announced by the Israeli minister of Tourism Yorl Razvozov in Jerusalem during a meeting with the Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) Rev Dr Yakubu Pam during his visit to Israel.
The Israeli tourism minister explained that the initial plan is to operate regular flights using only Chartered flights between both countries though the focus is to operationalize regular direct flights between both countries.
The meeting was based on mutually beneficial relationship between the two countries to operate flights by a Nigerian airline.
According to Mr Yoel Nigerian’s population of 206 million people of which 50 % are christians is an advantage to the relationship and proposed regular flights.
Nigeria as the most populous black nation in Africa will benefit through those attending pilgrimage.
The arrangement using a Nigerian airline would increase business and strengthen financial relations as well.
The Israeli tourism minister commended the Executive Secretary of NCPC for making history when the regular flights resume being the person in whose tenure the flights started and who helped to midwife the relationship.
