2023: Tinubu’s Nap In Gombe Generates Reactions Over Agility

By Adadainfo

The presisential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Sen Bola Tinubu, slept briefly on his arrival at the Emir’s palace in Gombe during a visit yesterday.

While some commentators see nothing wrong with that because anybody could suffer fatigue, some however interprete that he is indeed not fit for the rigours of becoming Nigeria’s president.

Hamman Galafi tweeted, “Just a trip by flight from Abuja to Gombe, Tinubu started sleeping at Emir’s Palace. Everyone was shocked and sad at the palace 😂.”

Winifred @ winicruz advised Tinubu to rest, or at best reconsider the 2023 contest due to age. She tweeted, “He should grow old resting in his house and being a good grandfather. Not fighting to become president of over 200m people. TUFIAKWA.”

The Creative-Hub @firstlady however exonerated Tinubu, saying he would do better than Peter Obi even while asleep. According to her, “It’s not about sleeping, it’s about doing the job… BAT is capable. He can do the job with his eyes closed… A quality Peter Obi can never have…”

Meanwhile, a chieftain of the APC had earlier described the person that snapped Tinubu while sleeping as ‘a Labour Party mole’.

Tinubu in Gombe, Saturday, called on the residents to support his presidential bid. He spoke after the wedding Fatiha of Misbau Yahaya, the son of the Gombe State governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, and his bride, Amira Babayo.

He told his teeming supporters: “To the people of North East, thank you for all you have been doing for me. I feel at home. I challenge you, now that your son is my running mate, to double your efforts and you have to do more.

“They said campaign is not open yet. I don’t know who closed it. We are politicians and anytime no campaign is closed, politics 360 degrees makes joy go round.

“We promise you people of Gombe that we will always promote prosperity and joy for all of you.”
