Portugal defeated Ghana 3-2 in the ongoing World Cup in Qatar after a controversial penalty awarded to the 2016 European champions.

The match was keenly contested in the first half. The first goal of the match was scored by clubless Cristiano Ronaldo when he was brought down by Salisu in the 64th minute.

The feat makes Ronaldo the first player to score in five world cups ever. The Black Stars restored parity in the 73rd minute. However, the West Africans conceded another goal five minutes later. This followed miscalculation by Baba Rahaman, cheaply allowing Jaoa Felix the chance to make it 2-1.

Portugal then netted their third goal in the 80th minute to make it 3-1 via Rafael Leão.

Ghana’s Osman Bukari scored in the 89th minute, his first ever, to make it 3-2.

Ghana bundled Augustine Eguavon-tortured Super Eagles out of the World Cup 2022 edition.
