Ooni Honours Anene-Okwuaka, 3 Others For Community Development Efforts

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has honoured four outstanding Nigerians for their personal attainments as well as their commitment to development in their various communities.

Those honoured include Delta State’s former Director-General, Revenue Monitoring Tracking & Audit, Chief Frank Nwugo; Provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, Dr (Mrs) Josephine Anene-Okeakwa; legendary Footballer Mutiu Adepoju and a renowned businessman and philanthropist, Chief Nick Nnabuike Eze.

In a colorful ceremony in Ife on Thursday, Nwugo was installed as Otun Oba Asoju Atunluse while Dr. Anene-Okeakwa got the title of Yeye Asoju Alatunse. Adepoju is the Asoju Amuludun of Ife while Nick Eze was capped as the Asoju Agbeluga of The Source.

The Palace said the Ojaja II Merit Award seeks to recognize and dignify individuals who have over time demonstrated a commitment to their communities. The honour is expected to inspire other people of means to help make their communities better places to live.

The Ooni later treated the title recipients and other members of the Club to a Royal Banquet attended by other traditional rulers at the prestigious Ojaja Arena in Ile-Ife.

Except for Adepoju, the title recipients are members of the Signs and Wonders Club International based in Asaba, Delta State. It is an association whose members are dedicated to the upliftment of their communities, the less privileged and the society at large.

Adepoju is from Ibadan in Oyo State, Anene-Okwuaka and Nwugo are from Delta State while Nick Eze is from Nsude in Enugu State.

Their personal attainments, sacrifices as individuals and a group, have been receiving commendations from far and near. The honour by the Ooni, Ojaja II, comes as they undertake a 4-day retreat in Osun State, during which time they will visit historical places and take part in some community initiatives.
