The general manager of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, Barr Amaobi Ezeaku, says he celebrated the second away victory of the Flying Antelopes against Niger Tornados ‘in tears’.

Rangers defeated their Niger State counterparts, Niger Tonadoes, by two goals to nothing. The game held at Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

Ezeaku tweeted, “I woke up in tears. Fulfilled. This means a lot to me. To wear the badge of this great Club. To fight for this badge and the people who love this. To fight for our Ancestors and protection of our history. I was born loving this game and this Club.”

Our correspondent reports that Rangers’ goals were scored within three minutes as Chidiebere Nwobodo opened scoring in the 22nd minute while Obaje doubled the advantage in the 25th minute to make it five wins in a row and five consecutive clean sheets for the former champions.

Elsewhere, Lobi Stars returned to the top of the table with 42 points, thanks a 2-0 win over Katsina United while Plateau United also closed the gap on them to just one point after beating Bendel Insurance 2-0 as well.

After getting his first win in charge of Sunshine Stars in midweek, Kennedy Boboye’s return to Heartland ended up on a positive note as he led the Akure-based side to a 1-1 draw against his former employers.
